Astral Projection Techniques – Top 3 Ways That Lead to the Separation Process

By Joe Treacy

There are many techniques that will lead you to having your first conscious O.B.E. or Out of Body Experience. I am going to provide you with the 3 Astral Projection techniques that have helped me the most at achieving success with astral projecting.

Relaxation Techniques

The first requirement for a successful O.B.E is to relax the whole body. Begin by tensing then relaxing every part of your body. Start with your toes and work your way up to the top of your head.

In addition, while laying down you can say affirmations such as “My body is falling a sleep” or “My feet are completely relaxed and asleep.” I would use a combination of the affirmations and physical relaxation techniques for the best results. As soon as your whole body has a total sense of warmth to it, it is then time to work on calming the mind.

Stilling the Mind

Mediation is one of the most important astral projection techniques for beginners. Meditation will not only help you have an out of body experience, but it will also help to decrease stress and increase confidence. I mediate by practicing mindfulness meditation.

Mindfulness is a common zen practice which involves following your breath and feeling the presence of your body. Breathing from your diaphragm and feeling the life in your hands will help to center your body and your mind.

Separation Techniques and Intent

Once the mind is calm and still, it is then time to use your intent to go somewhere. The most popular separation techniques include the roll out method and the rope technique. These techniques were made popular by Robert Monroe and Robert Bruce. Eventually with enough experience you can drop the separation techniques and phase right into the astral plane.

Flying! Astral Projection For Children

By Skot McCall

Have you ever wanted to fly? Have you ever closed your eyes and imagined soaring over the trees? Do you have dreams at night that you’re flying?

Did you know that it is possible to close your eyes and have a real-life, magical, flying adventure? It is called astral projection. Another term for this kind of journey is an “out-of-body experience”.

Before I explain how to astral project, let me tell you a story. This is a story my mom told to me, when I was a kid.

When she was about five years old, she had problems with her legs. She was in so much pain, that when she laid in her bed at night, she wished she could leave her body. So she did! She didn’t know how, but she would sit up, get out of her body, float up to the ceiling and then fly out of here room. She said it was very fun, and she felt free!

As I grew a little older, I wanted to learn more about her amazing experience. I went to the school library and found out, that when someone leaves their body, it is called “astral projection”.

You may have never heard these words before, so let me grab a dictionary…okay, I’m back! Now, let’s look at the first word – “astral”. My very, merry dictionary says that “astral” means: Anything that is just like the stars or has to do with the stars. For example, if you have a Grandma whose eyes are bright and shiney, like a star, you could say that she has astral eyes. (I think she would like that.)

If you look closely at the word “astral”, it even has the words “a star” hidden inside of it. Yes, words are tricky and magical, like that! It also has the words “Al’s rat” hidden inside of it, but don’t tell Al, or his rat might try to escape and go to Hollywood to be a movie star!

So, we now know what the word “astral” means, but how about the word “projection”? My very, merry dictionary says that a “projection” is something that sticks out. Have you ever been to a movie theater and looked behind you, into the darkness? Did you see that light, way up high, that shines onto the movie screen? It makes a “projection” onto the screen.

What have we learned so far?

Astral = Anything that has to do with the stars. Projection = Something that sticks out.

Astral projection = Sticking out toward the stars.

Yes, YOU can have an astral projection. You can go out toward the stars. In fact, you can go anywhere you’d like! You can float through outer space, you can visit your friend’s house, or you can just fly around your room! Does this sound fun and exciting, but a little bit weird?

You might be asking yourself, “How can I do this? How can I astral project?” First, let’s talk about who YOU are.

You have a thumb. You have shoulders and a belly-button. You also have feelings and thoughts. So which part is REALLY you?

Are your fingernails you, or are you your voice that speaks words? Sometimes, even grown-ups have a hard time figuring out which part they really are. The truth is, that YOU ARE EVERYTHING! That’s right, you can be, do or have anything, because you are a part of everything you see around you.

But, what does this have to do with astral projection? Well, let me tell you… Your body is a tool. It is there for you to use, just like a spoon, or a pencil, or a hammer. If you want to run somewhere, or grab something, your body is a wonderful tool to get the job done!

And just like a spoon, a pencil or a hammer, you can also lay your body down when you’re not using it. We do this every night when we go to sleep. In fact, right after you climb into bed is a perfect time to have an astral projection.

Did you know that your body can go to sleep, but you can stay awake? Yep, while your body is asleep there is a part of you, inside your body, that can journey out and explore. This part of you is called your “astral body”.

Some people call your astral body, your “soul” or your “spirit”. It is the energy inside your body that makes it move around and be alive. Your astral body can do anything your imagination can do. It can fly, swim, go through walls or travel faster than a race car. It can even be invisible!

Having an astral projection is like being in a dream, but you’re awake. Just like being in a dream, you can also wake up, anytime you want.

Most people who have had astral projections, tell us there is a long, silver cord, or a long string, that goes from your body asleep in the bed, to your astral body that is having the adventure. It is connected to your belly-button! This keeps you safe, while you’re exploring.

How do I have an astral projection?

Try this exercise, some night, right before you go to sleep:

While lying on your back, put your hands and arms by your sides. Just close your eyes and relax. Now, breathe for a few minutes. Pretty easy, isn’t it? This will let your body get VERY comfortable.

Now, just listen to your own breath. Don’t try to breathe, just let your lungs fill all the way up, like two balloons. Let your breath come… and go… very easily, like waves of the ocean… in… and out. Very good!

Next, you’re going to relax each body part, one at a time. We’ll start with your feet. While lying on your back, tighten those toes as tight as you can, while breathing in. Now, as you breathe out, let your feet TOTALLY relax. Your feet will be so relaxed, it feels like they’re not even there.

Do the same thing with your lower legs (your calves). Squeeze them tightly as you breathe in, and let them totally relax as you breathe out. Do the same thing with your upper legs (your thighs). Do the same thing with your bottom. After that, everything below your waist should feel like it has melted into the bed. This feels very nice and peaceful! Keep squeezing, breathing, and relaxing, each body part – your stomach, hands, arms, chest, shoulders, neck and face.

Wonderful! After you have relaxed your entire body, from head to toe, you might feel like you’re floating in space! Your body could feel very numb, like it’s not even there. This feeling means that your body is going to sleep, and your astral body is free to explore.

To start this adventure is easy, but for some it may take a little practice. As you’re laying there, imagine what it would feel like to sit up. Let your body stay numb in the bed, but imagine sitting up and looking around the room. This is VERY important: It is your wanting to sit up, that will make it happen!

Everyone is different, so take it one step at a time. You might just learn how to relax your body for the first few nights you practice. Soon enough, you’ll learn how to sit up in bed, and before long you will be floating around the room.

Always keep in mind, that YOU ARE SAFE! Anytime you want to stop the journey, and be awake in your body, all you have to do is think about it, and it will happen.

Have fun on your night time journeys, and remember… How easily you have an astral projection depends on how possible you think it is!

Astral Projection Meaning – Learning Astral Terms

astral projection meaning

Learning Astral Terms – OOBE, NDE, Lucid Dreaming, and Astral Projection

By Abhishek Agarwal

Astral Projection Meaning – Readers may get confused between various astral terms such as OOBE or OBE, NDE, Lucid dreaming, and astral projection. Many students of astral projection still haven’t come to a clarity with regard to the differences between astral projection and lucid dreaming. To get a better idea of Astral Projection Meaning, let us look at various astral terms.

The terms OOBE and NDE, though coming under the same umbrella as astral projection, mean something quite different.

What is an OOBE?

An OOBE is an out-of-the-body experience. In an OOBE, your consciousness or awareness is out of the physical body. You can experience an OOBE consciously or accidentally. An OOBE need not necessarily lead to an exploration of the astral realms. Most people who have an OOBE are so startled with the experience that they jump right back into their bodies.

What is an NDE?

Near death experience (NDE) is experienced when a person is close to death. NDE’s have been reported in case of people who meet with accidents or suffer from critical illnesses. During an NDE, etheric matter moves into the person’s astral body, and this movement comprises the initial phases of death. People often describe this as, “I saw my entire life flash before me.”

Those who have experienced an NDE, also report seeing a dark tunnel leading to a circle of light or they experience floating a few meters above their physical form in full awareness of what is going on.

Major Differences Between Astral Projection And Lucid Dreaming

Both are ways to gain entry into the astral planes, and in both cases, you are fully conscious and in full control of what is going on, depending on your expertise. In spite of these basic similarities, the gap of difference between the two is large.

1. In the case of astral projection, you project from your body into the astral realms. In the case of lucid dreaming, you are not aware of the projection.

2. Since astral projectors consciously leave their bodies, they tend to carry their restrictive beliefs into the astral realms. This might hinder their progress because such beliefs do not work in the astral world.

Lucid dreamers, on the contrary, are so used to the freedom and flexibility of the state of lucid dreaming that they can easily lose consciousness and become lost in the dream. You can overcome these challenges only with grit, determination, and practice.

3. Lucid dreamers tend to “create” their own experiences and craft their own dreams. Astral projectors prefer to explore the unknown realms into which they have projected. While a lucid dreamer can easily satisfy the suppressed desires of restrictive earthly living, an astral projector is more focused on exploring hidden realities, undisturbed by unfulfilled desires.

4. An astral projector retains full memory of his or her identity. A lucid dreamer, on the contrary, need not remember his/her identity and hardly remembers what happened before the lucid dream commenced or the circumstances of the waking state.

These, then are the main points of differences between astral projection and lucid dreaming, highly self-fulfilling practices that can be experienced by anybody, provided they put in the right amount of effort in that direction.

Out of Body Experience When Sleeping

Out of Body Experience When Sleeping – The First Time

By Ali Wylie

Have you ever woken up and felt paralyzed? Or woken up suddenly to loud noises, bangs, bells, voices? Or felt your body sizzling and fizzing with energy? If so, you were probably either just about to leave your body or you had just re-entered.

It can be frightening, if you don’t understand what is happening. The paralysis is due to the fact that, your mind is awake, but your body is still sound asleep. You have woken up inside your sleeping body. The noises, bells, bangs, etc, occur as your consciousness expands, your astral hearing is more acute and all sorts of sounds can seep in.

Noises and vibrations are also due to the process of leaving your body. The vibrations can feel like a high-speed train traveling through your body and is wonderfully exciting, or they can feel like a gentle fizz, or they may not even be present. The first time ‘out’ is unforgettable.

My first conscious out of body experience when sleeping (OBE) was very simple, but I’ll always remember it for the joy it gave me. I use the term ‘conscious’ as we all leave our bodies at night, though we are not always aware of it.

I had been studying my dreams for a while, I wanted to learn how to lucid dream at will and was practicing techniques to achieve my goal. My desire at this time was to expand my inner knowledge, to contact the part of me that is not physical, a higher source.

One night I woke up inside my sleeping body, I felt slight vibrations which I would describe as fizzy. It was a marvelous sensation. I could see a little light coming through the blinds.

As I focused on the window, I suddenly found myself floating near the ceiling. I had read about OBEs, so I was aware of what was happening to me and was not afraid. I felt wonderful, weightless and full of joy. I found movement difficult and soon found myself back in my fizzing body.

The vibrations were like thousands of electric shocks, though they were not painful. I managed to get out again and once more found myself floating near the ceiling. The same sensation of lightness and freedom filled me. I re-entered my body and woke up fully, both in mind and body.

I went back to sleep again, excited for what had happened and when I finally woke up the following morning the feeling remained with me. I wanted to tell everyone, though I didn’t, I wasn’t sure if people would take me seriously. I felt so good, as if I had opened up a path to that part of my Self that I had been missing, that I had longed for.

I’ve been “going out” on a regular basis ever since that first OBE. It was like riding a bike and I knew that I would never forget how to repeat the experience. I had found my inner button.

We can all have conscious OBEs and by doing so expand our consciousness. It is, of course, not the only way to grow spiritually, but it is a way that works for me. We are all individuals and have our own paths.

Since I began my inner journey synchronicities have increased, my ability to find lost objects and solve problems, meet the right people at the right time. Life becomes easier as being connected to an inner source, in-tuition, makes life flow more smoothly. That first time was the beginning of a wonderful adventure into Self.

Share your experiences with a group of kind, supportive and respectful people from all over the globe. Read about and discuss techniques for successful OBE’ing. Come and visit us at http://www.projectradiantlight.com

out of body experience experiment
Just got my first guitar, Is it a good idea to get a hollow body?

I've been a bass player for a couple of years, but wants to branch out and try with the guitar. Bass is nice but I think the guitar can take my music to a new level. I hope to experiment with some blues and alternative rock. From what I've tried, I like the tone and feel of Epiphone / Gibson guitars in general. Epiphone The Dot specifically in my price range. Would have to be very careful with it for it is easy to ding horrible, but the guitar sounds and looks good to me. Also, the thought might be the practice of bonus if I can not use an amplifier. Anyone with more experience want to help me with some advice? Thanks

Go for it. The Epiphone dot (or any quality "335" Guitar very nice style.) If you do not abuse it – is that it is not too delicate. It can withstand being played.
